How this market works
veTOPAZ locks are illiquid by design — this is where they trade. Everything here is on-chain: the order book, the offers, and the guarantees.
What am I actually buying?
A veTOPAZ position — the ERC-721 that Topaz mints when TOPAZ is locked. It carries the locked TOPAZ, its unlock date and the voting power that comes with it, so you inherit the votes, bribes, fees and rebases attached to that lock.
Why is price per TOPAZ the headline number?
A 500 TOPAZ lock and a 50,000 TOPAZ lock are not comparable at face value. Dividing the ask by the TOPAZ inside the lock puts every listing on one axis, and comparing that to the DEX spot price tells you the discount you are being paid to take on the lock duration.
Does my lock leave my wallet when I list it?
No. Listing only grants the marketplace permission to move the position at the moment a buyer pays. Until then you keep voting, claiming bribes and fees, and can cancel whenever you like.
What stops a seller from draining the lock before I buy?
The lock terms are recorded when the listing is created and re-checked on settlement. If the TOPAZ inside has fallen, the unlock date has been pulled in, a permanent lock has been unlocked, or the position has been moved into a managed escrow, the purchase reverts instead of filling.
How does the floor sweep work?
Pick the cheapest N by price per TOPAZ and buy them in one transaction. Listings that get bought or cancelled before your transaction lands are skipped rather than reverting the whole batch, and unspent BNB comes straight back to you.
Which currencies can I use?
BNB, USDC and USDT. Everything settles in ERC-20 — BNB listings settle in WBNB — so attaching native BNB to a purchase simply wraps it on the way through, and sellers receive WBNB they can unwrap at any time.
What are collection offers?
A standing bid priced per locked TOPAZ, with criteria such as a minimum lock size, a minimum unlock date, or permanent-only. Any seller holding a matching lock can hit it. Your funds stay in your wallet — only an allowance is needed.
Where does the artwork come from?
The escrow renders it on-chain: tokenURI returns metadata whose image is an SVG, along with traits describing the lock. Nothing here is hosted off-chain, so what you see in a listing is exactly what the contract will show you after the trade.
What are the fees?
A protocol fee in basis points is taken from the seller proceeds on each fill, capped at 5% in the contract and set well below that in practice. There are no listing, cancellation or bidding fees.
